Archaeological Roads

No-one walks the old roads now. No, not one ;
they are all gone long ago
deep underground
but now they are coming to the surface again
these lattice roads
running north-south, east-west,
from a pre-Colombian age,
shedding light on old settlements, trade connections,
the grid system of our sister cities -
the street plans of the past.
