Betim Muço

Betim Muço is an Albanian poet. He was born in January 1947 in Tirana, where he was graduated in physics from the University of Tirana and later specialized in seismology and received a PhD in earth sciences. His first poems appeared in the literary press as early as 1967. Since then, he has published more than 25 books of poetry, short stories, novels and essays. Muço is also a translator who has rendered into Albanian the works of Graham Greene, Saul Bellow, Yukio Mishima, Rainer Maria Rilke, James Joyce, Vladimir Nabokov, Alice Munro and many international poets. Since 2001 he has lived in Rockville, Maryland.
