Arund­hathi Sub­ra­ma­ni­am is a poet and writer on spir­i­tu­al­i­ty and cul­ture. She is the author of three books of poems, most recent­ly Where I Live: New and Select­ed Poems (Blood­axe, UK, 2009). Her poet­ry has been wide­ly anthol­o­gised and trans­lat­ed. She has worked over the years as poet­ry edi­tor, cura­tor, and jour­nal­ist on lit­er­a­ture, clas­si­cal dance and the­atre. Her prose works include the biog­ra­phy of a con­tem­po­rary mys­tic (Sad­hgu­ru: More Than a Life, Pen­guin, 2010). As edi­tor, her books include the Pen­guin anthol­o­gy of essays on sacred jour­neys (Pilgrim’s India, 2011) and the Pen­guin anthol­o­gy of con­tem­po­rary Indi­an love poems in Eng­lish (Con­fronting Love, 2005; co-ed). She divides her time between Bom­bay and a yoga cen­tre in south India.
