Arundhathi Subramaniam is a poet and wri­ter on spi­ri­tua­li­ty and culture. She is the author of three books of poems, most recent­ly Where I Live : New and Selected Poems (Bloodaxe, UK, 2009). Her poe­try has been wide­ly antho­lo­gi­sed and trans­la­ted. She has wor­ked over the years as poe­try edi­tor, cura­tor, and jour­na­list on lite­ra­ture, clas­si­cal dance and theatre. Her prose works include the bio­gra­phy of a contem­po­ra­ry mys­tic (Sadhguru : More Than a Life, Penguin, 2010). As edi­tor, her books include the Penguin antho­lo­gy of essays on sacred jour­neys (Pilgrim’s India, 2011) and the Penguin antho­lo­gy of contem­po­ra­ry Indian love poems in English (Confronting Love, 2005 ; co-ed). She divides her time bet­ween Bombay and a yoga centre in south India.
