Do you know how Japanese archers prepare for competitions ?
It was the same for me.” Joan Miró on Blue I,II,III

Before he starts
he must prepare himself,
meditate, empty his mind,
ensure an equal balance.

Pelvis and shoulders
must be aligned, right hand
gripping the bowstring, head
turned towards the target.

He raises the bow
above his head,  spreads
his arms, hawk feathered shaft
brushing against his cheek.

Full draw complete,
the bird's feathers unleash
the piercing music of the meadow.

He and the target are one.
