Betim Muço is an Albanian poet. He was born in January 1947 in Tirana, where he was gra­dua­ted in phy­sics from the University of Tirana and later spe­cia­li­zed in seis­mo­lo­gy and recei­ved a PhD in earth sciences. His first poems appea­red in the lite­ra­ry press as ear­ly as 1967. Since then, he has publi­shed more than 25 books of poe­try, short sto­ries, novels and essays. Muço is also a trans­la­tor who has ren­de­red into Albanian the works of Graham Greene, Saul Bellow, Yukio Mishima, Rainer Maria Rilke, James Joyce, Vladimir Nabokov, Alice Munro and many inter­na­tio­nal poets. Since 2001 he has lived in Rockville, Maryland.
