Betim Muço is an Alban­ian poet. He was born in Jan­u­ary 1947 in Tirana, where he was grad­u­at­ed in physics from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Tirana and lat­er spe­cial­ized in seis­mol­o­gy and received a PhD in earth sci­ences. His first poems appeared in the lit­er­ary press as ear­ly as 1967. Since then, he has pub­lished more than 25 books of poet­ry, short sto­ries, nov­els and essays. Muço is also a trans­la­tor who has ren­dered into Alban­ian the works of Gra­ham Greene, Saul Bel­low, Yukio Mishi­ma, Rain­er Maria Rilke, James Joyce, Vladimir Nabokov, Alice Munro and many inter­na­tion­al poets. Since 2001 he has lived in Rockville, Maryland.
